Our main technical and financial partners

Together, let's make a difference for future generations.

Madagascar National Parks (MNP) stands as the vigilant guardian of Madagascar’s Protected Areas, sanctuaries of exceptionally endemic biodiversity.

As a dedicated guardian of the treasures that Mother Nature has entrusted to the Grande Île, Madagascar National Parks has paved the way for the management of Protected Areas. The first to take the protection of these sanctuaries into its own hands, the institution has dedicated itself to the ambitious mission of establishing, conserving and sustainably managing a national network of Parks and Reserves.

These biodiversity havens are not only refuges for unique flora and fauna; they are also engines of local economic development, providing opportunities for surrounding communities while promoting conservation.

In recent years, the challenges have taken on an alarming crescendo: the COVID-19 pandemic has seriously disrupted conservation efforts, while the growing poverty of local populations has exacerbated the pressures. In addition, climate change has amplified the effects of cyclones and droughts, plunging these fragile ecosystems into a critical situation.

Yet Madagascar National Parks has stood firm, facing these adversities with unwavering determination, supported by its loyal and committed partners.

Today, on the eve of its 35th anniversary, Madagascar National Parks reaffirms its commitment and invites you to embark on this adventure.

This strategic plan does more than simply revisit Madagascar National Parks’ needs and priorities; it is intended as a strategic compass to guide our shared mission. It testifies to our unwavering commitment and celebrates the significant progress we have made.
