Madagascar National Parks is a private association, recognized as a public utility, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development. Since the early 90s

Madagascar National Parks has been entrusted by the Malagasy government with the responsibility of managing a vast network of Protected Areas.

48 Protected Areas make up a third of Madagascar’s total.

NATIONAL PARK ANDOHAHELA

The biological diversity of the extreme South-East of Madagascar. It is also the only protected area in Madagascar with a dense humid forest south of the Tropic of Capricorn, as well as a transitional “formation” between the Eastern and Southern ecoregions

NATIONAL PARK ISALO

The Isalo National Park is a unique ecological representation within the Madagascar National Parks network: a ruiniform massif of continental sandstone dating from the Jurassic with its typical geomorphology and its endemic rock vegetation (Aloe, Euphorbia, Pachypoda, Kalanchoe, etc.)

NATIONAL PARK ANKARAFANTSIKA

Ankarafantsika includes a unique floristic formation on a sandy massif in which faunal species are found at a very high rate of endemicity and not represented in other protected areas.
