Nosy Hara’s geomorphology is marked by varied landscapes, including steep cliffs, karst plateaus and fine sandy beaches. Erosion and marine activity have sculpted the coastline, creating unique rock formations and marine cavities. Karst, characterized by dolines and caves, is an important aspect of geomorphology, influencing the island’s biodiversity and hydrology (Cohen & Rabeharisoa, 2012).
Nosy Hara is mainly made up of rock formations dating from the Mesozoic, with limestone and granite predominating (Brady & Vignoles, 2006).
