An important step for conservation! The Orientation and Support Committee for the Andringitra Protected Area was officially established on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, during a meeting held in Ambalavao.
This initiative actively involves the Ihorombe Region, which encompasses the largest area of this Protected Area.
đź‘Ą Among the permanent members of this committee are Governor RAKOTONDRASOA Annie Franckline and the Regional Director of Environment and Sustainable Development of Ihorombe.
🎯 The objective of the COSAP (Orientation and Support Committee for the Protected Area), in collaboration with Madagascar National Parks (MNP), is to strengthen local monitoring against deforestation, encourage reforestation, and attract more tourists.
🌄 Furthermore, the region also hosts the Pic d’Ivohibe, where the creation of a dedicated committee is currently being prepared.
🤝 Many local actors were present and will be involved in implementing these protection actions on the ground.
